Abstract

The present study aimed to assess the personality dimensions and eating behavior in students of the National Autonomous University of Nicaragua - FAREM Carazo from a quantitative approach and a cross-sectional design. The scope of this research was descriptive and correlational, prioritizing the description of the mentioned variables and thus, determining the prediction of the personality dimensions on eating behavior. The total sample consisted of 120 university students of Public Accounting and Finance from the first to the fifth year of said career, for their selection a cluster technique was used. The instruments used were EPQR and EAT-26. For data analysis, a linear regression was performed with respect to the prediction of the personality dimensions of eating behavior. The results found indicated that 9% of the sample were at risk of developing an eating disorder. With respect to the personality dimensions, it was found that the Neuroticism scale does not have a significant prediction in the university students of the Public Accounting and Finance career of the FAREM-CARAZO, however, the Psychoticism dimension does present a higher risk of eating behavior in the male gender.
