Abstract

This work is part of the UNDAVCYT Research Project:“The media representation of School Violence: Theaudiovisual as an intervention tool.”, Subsidized in its2017 call and executed in the course of recent years, which was developed from the Department of SocialSciences of the National University of Avellaneda.

The central axis is to promote learning spaces inthe educational system, through the production ofaudiovisual materials, which provide the necessarytools to reflect on the causes and notions of schoolviolence. Along these lines, we must ask ourselves, what is designated as violence in schools? Whatuniverse does the media build on violence and itscauses? What vision do young people have on thesubject? among other. The importance of this projectlies in promoting intervention in the educationalsystem, through the audiovisual tool as a place ofrupture and creation where more and more youngpeople can intervene in the processes of knowledgeproduction about the so-called “school violence”.

In short, the proposal promotes an articulated dialoguebetween the analysis of media representations, the central notions of this debate and the voice ofstudents to develop audiovisual products that containthe gaze of young people on the problem of violencein educational settings, in the town of Avellaneda(Argentina).
