Survival of patients with endometrial cancer, Hospital Bertha Calderón Roque, in the period from january to december 2013
Abstract
In order to analyze the survival rate of women with endometrial cancer managed in the HBCR from 2013 to 2018, an observational, correlational, retrospective, cross-sectional, analytical and predictive study was carried out. 32 patients were included in this study. Statistical variables were obtained from demographic aspects, clinical history, comorbidities, risk factors, treatments, associated complications, histological characteristics, disease-free time, survival time, and the censorship code. Frequency analysis, descriptive statistics were performed, emphasizing the Confidence Interval, which were presented in tables, pie charts, bars and whisker boxes. Spearman's Nonparametric Correlation tests, univariate analysis of variance (ANOVA) and Fisher's LSD Test and Logistic Regression Analysis were performed to determine the survival rates of the Kaplan and Meier Test. Results: Average age was 59.56 years, 84.37% of the patients were overweight, 68.5% were diagnosed in Stage I, endometrioid type 81.25%, histological grade I 50%. Treatment was surgical except stage IVB.
When applying the Spearman correlation, a positive correlation was found with a statistically significant response between stage and treatment. Overall survival at 5 years was 50.78 months, survival by stage was IA, IB, and IIIC 93%, 50%, and 25%, respectively. We conclude that endometrial cancer presented in postmenopausal patients in early stages, treated with surgery and with a high overall survival.
