Social Interest Housing, a housing alternative for salaried families
Abstract
Jinotepe es un núcleo urbano ubicado en el pacífico de Nicaragua. Dista a 45 kilómetros de la capital de la República; Managua, es en la actualidad la capital del departamento y concentra la administración de los principales servicios públicos, ejerciendo gran influencia sobre los demás municipios del departamento.
Históricamente la ciudad fue un centro de desarrollo de la producción agrícola; destacándose el cultivo del café como el rubro de mayor importancia económica de la zona. Sin embargo, la caída de los precios internacionales de este cultivo en los últimos años ha transformado radicalmente la estructura económica del municipio, convirtiéndolo en una zona eminentemente comercial y prestadora de servicios.
