Overview of Nicaraguan literature

Abstract

All literature is assimilable or intelligible in relation to its inevitable relationship with other literatures. And that relationship is generally a duel of multiple meanings, a dialogic relationship: the dialogue that all literature needs to generate its multiple and complex systems of signs, and evolve. I have for me that, in the course of that dialogue process and assimilation, Nicaraguan poetry of the last hundred years has invariably sustained a dialogue (or rather a colloquium) with herself.
