This article was prepared within the framework of the Research Seminar II, Community Diagnosis course of the Master's Degree in Management and Public Policy. The objective of this work is to provide a comprehensive vision of the Villa Bulgaria community, located in Managua. The research and writing of this document was developed during the 2024 academic cycle, as part of the efforts to provide free and quality education, aligned with the National Plan to Fight Poverty and for Human Development 2022-2026 and the National Strategy for Education in All its Modalities 2024-2026, of our Good Government of Reconciliation and National Unity [GRUN]. The community diagnosis process in Villa Bulgaria was carried out following a participatory methodology, which integrated various techniques and tools with the objective of carrying out a historical and cultural reconstruction that allowed an immersion in the current reality and understanding the main opportunities for community improvement in the study area. It began with a series of exploratory visits to the community, in which interviews were conducted with local leaders and inhabitants in order to build a detailed history of the historical and socio-cultural context of the community. These interviews were fundamental to understand the challenges faced by the community, as well as to identify development opportunities. Villa Bulgaria is an enterprising community supported by government programs such as zero usury, it has historical characters that have lived in the neighborhood since its foundation, it is an organized community with a well-defined political structure of community leaders that works together with government institutions, since 2007 with the GRUN there have been advances with greater positive impact at the community level, improving the quality of life of the inhabitants, through the contact with the population it became evident that there are several opportunities for improvement, the most relevant being environmental education in waste management.
