The purpose of this essay has been to establish, based on an analysis, the relationship between Rubén Darío's poetry and painting. It started from the precept "ut pictura poesis" by Horacio and the concept of ekphrasis, which, since the times of the Greco-Latin classics, have guided the study of the nature and correspondence of the so-called sister arts: Poetry and painting. To work on this thesis, a selection of works of an ecphrastic nature was made, both poems and stories, with the intention of identifying the main literary and poetic symbols that refer to painting, and thus it was possible to confirm and analyze the richness of the Rubendarian Work in as for the pictorial features that reside in it.
