Abstract

The article "Exploring the relationship between history and archaeology in the socio-historical  analysis of the indigenous communities of  Urbaite-Las Pilas" from Altagracia, Isla de  Ometepe, Rivas, aims to promote a  comprehensive and contextualized vision of these  communities. It combines historical and  archaeological research to understand their past,  present, and cultural identity from an inter- and  multidisciplinary perspective in the reconstruction of historical memory and cultural transmission of  indigenous peoples. This approach provides a  more complete understanding of their material  and social history and the influence of archaeological processes on historical  interpretation. The work also raises questions that help interpret and reinterpret the activities of  indigenous peoples, especially in relation to their  settlement and identity. It invites, through a  respectful and participatory approach, to value  the voice and action of the real protagonists of  indigenous history.
