Abstract

The essay is oriented to the analysis of the main factors that determine the staging of agroecology. There are elements of the context, such as climate change, environmental degradation and the increasing cost of agricultural inputs typical of the conventional model, which pose the challenge of transforming agroecosystems based on small-scale and level experiences territorial in Nicaragua and other parts of the world. The literature review identifies a set of key drivers for the staging of agroecology, which has characterized these processes. It is proposed to use the Territorial Rural Development (DRT) planning approach as a strategy for agroecological transformation, in which multiple actors participate, based on the strengthening of the capacities of existing organizations in the territories, and the active development of local governments, NGOs, and the academy. The use of the territorial approach and the implementation of the drivers of agroecology may be of great relevance to accelerate the dynamics of agroecology staggering.
