Abstract

In the present essay the topic of scientific research in the teaching-learning process is addressed, with the aim of analyzing the role that the research activity should play as a transversal axis of the Study Plan in the different degrees and the current situation of the Regional Multidisciplinary School of Matagalpa (UNAN-FAREM-Matagalpa), from the perspective of the subjects of Research Methodology, Applied Research, Graduation Seminars, Monographs and the Academic Coordination of these areas.

The experiences reflected mark the relevance of the essay, precisely when in the National Autonomous University of Nicaragua (UNAN-Managua), a process of curricular transformation is developed, in which we are also immersed the teachers of the Regional School of Matagalpa, sharing responsibilities in this process.

One of the bibliographic sources analyzed corresponds to a study on this subject, carried out in the FARM-Matagalpa Agricultural Engineering Course, which enriches the contextualization of the discussion, together with the rest of the bibliographic material, referring to theoretical aspects and results of research.

It is concluded that, for the sake of academic excellence, it is necessary to incorporate the elements of scientific research (problematization, theoretical discussion and scientific demonstration), in the teaching-learning process of all the subjects of the Study Plan, in the different degrees. To achieve this, a proposal based on teacher training, teamwork, disciplines and career groups is resumed, as well as action research in the classroom, which will allow evaluating this process on the way and correcting the mistakes.
